FasDog Rumors......

Time01 Sep 27, 2008 04:08 PM

Rumors have been coming to light about FasDog and the reason she has not had time to moderator the Greyt boards.

Talk has it she has been hard at work sewing small Greyhound suits! To be worn by whom I ask. Does this have anything to do with the World Sight Hound domination project?. LOL

Hmmmm......funny how rumors are. Too bad I can't sew.

Anyway, there is a story here. If I could sew greyhound suits, they would have to be pretty little suits as the whom only weigh 11 and 8 pounds. This would be my kitten kids, Clark and Chloe.

We lost Jadzia in May 2007. We're not really sure what was wrong, but she was wetting and pooping in the house and we had to keep her in the kitchen when we weren't home. We knew she had bad kidneys and her blood levels were getting worse. She was also so lonely as we lost Lyta in October 2006 and our cat Shadow 2 weeks after Lyta. Jadzia was in pain and not happy, so we felt it wasn't fair to her to keep her.

Anyway, we then took a 5 week vacation end of May and all of June 2007. When we got home, I noticed how empty the house was without a 4 legged kid in the house. Talked the hubby and we didn't feel we had the time for a dog. I didn't feel it was fair to a dog to be home alone the long hours we would be gone. I missed not having a dog or cat. So, I asked hubby if we could get a kitten. He agreed.

I started asking around and on July 13, I learned of someone not too far away who had some barn kittens. I called her and on July 15 the lady said we could stop by and see them. On her back porch, she had a box with 3 kittens. A black one, a black and white and a white and black kitten. I sat down next to the box and looked in at the little babies, which the lady said were 8 weeks old. They were so tiny! I had been years since I'd been around a kitten. The black and white one kept trying to climb out of the box, looking at me, meowing and pawing at me. I picked it up and saw it was a little girl. She cuddled up to me, purring and wanting to be petted. I put her back in the box and picked up the white and black one. I checked this one and it was a little boy. He was also interested in me, and wanted to play. I put him back and picked up the black one. This one just layed there, kinda uninterested. So I put that one back.

Chuck (hubby) and I sat watching them. The black on just layed in the box. The black/white and the white/black played and played together. I told Chuck I just loved the little black one. Every once in a while she would stop playing and wanted attention. Chuck said which ever I wanted, but he didn't think it was right to take her and not the white/black kitten too. I looked at him and asked that he wanted 2 kittens? He said why not, so.....I scooped them up real fast and told the lady we'd like to take those two. She just wanted to find homes, so they were free and off we went.

Took them to the vet the very next day and he informed us they were only 4 weeks old. Both of them were under a pound. He said if we had only gotten one kitten, he would want us to take it back. Since we got 2, he thought it would be ok.

They have been 2 bundles of joy ever since. I never knew 2 cats could be so much fun. They have kept me sane.

You think Mel should consider plastic nose surgery on the kits and possible fur transplants instead of suits? ROFL

Nah!!!

Ahem...
Since some of you, maybe none of you exceptFasDog, know who I am, this may sound weird but I wish I could get the residuals and royalties for the "World Sighthound Domination" thing since I am the one that started it oh so many years ago!

You assessed my yard as being good for 2.5 greyhounds!

Nuttin' but greys here. We are at 3 right now but I think we are at the end of that trail. Retirement is nearing and we will need something a bit more portable. We have begun to do some traveling and for now, the 2 kids can alternate being home when we are gone so that the hounds can stay at home. But, they won't be available forever as they are off and living their own lives. Our youngest hound is 3 and of course, she comes with a story. But once she is gone, that is it unless something drastic changes.

PHFasDog Oct 04, 2008 12:20 PM

Ya can't travel where the pups can go?

We like to camp, and we would just put the mutts in the truck and take them along. It would be fun to camp with young dogs. They could do all the hiking and walking with us. The old girls couldn't do that. They just wanted to lay in the air conditioned trailer.

We have discovered cruises. That is an impossibility with any pets. We do still have the camper but haven't tried the dogs as campers. Besides, our camper doesn't have A/C. That could be a deal breaker for a greyhound. They do like their comfort!

mereleagle Oct 01, 2008 07:11 AM

Yeah, that's me, the world traveler! How ya' been?
