Scotty pup

briancos Oct 03, 2008 07:10 AM

Hi, i recently bought of scotty pup. She is 3 months old. She has had all her vaccines and is microchipped and registered with the Irish Kennel Club. I noticed when i got her home that she has a lump under her lower jaw. I looked this up on the interent and it said that some pups can have an abnormal growth in their jaw. Should i be worried? It said that the lumps is usually sore to touch but that is not the case so far. It also said that as they get older the lump subsides and all does be well. I was just wondering if anyone out there has ever heard of this or if anyone has any advice for me? Thanks in advance.

Hi and welcome to the DogHobbyist. I haven't come across this myself with any of my dogs... however it could warrant a visit with your vet. It could be nothing serious or it may be some sign of dental issues or perhaps some sort of cyst. It wouldn't hurt to have it evaluated. Please post back if you find anything out about it.

Since you just got this pup, you should probably schedule a welness check up with your vet. Bring it up to your vet and ask them to look at it. It's probably no big deal, butnothing substitutes a professional opinion on lumps and bumps.

Congrats on the new addition!
