dogs BM - Help

My dogs (toy poodles) I feed the kibbles and bits and have been since the last 8 mths or so. I did have them on Iams smart puppy but they did not like it, but they LOVE kibbles and bits so thats what we use. My vet suggested i changed from Iams because my male was not gaining and baby food gave him the runs. SHe didnt suggest a certain kind to try, just to try to change to something they would all eat and after numerous purchaes we found kibbles and bits is what they prefer.
OK..
Well last week I gave my dogs capstar (for fleas) because the vet recommended it because .. DUMB me switched to biospot for fleas trying to save a few dollars and it DOES NOT WORK.. so 1 capstar for 48 hrs then my frontline plus came in from my supplier. I used a teaspoon of mightdog canned food to get them to take the capstar. Thats about the ONLY variation from their normal diet.. I have one dog and I think i narrowed it down to my male that will poop and when u pick it up it crumbles like sand and he just does it all over the place (last couple days)
Dont seem to be in pain or stomach ache
any idea what it could be?

I don't know what the problem is, but I would have the vet check your dog.

Ingested flea meds are VERY hard on a dogs' stomach. Do not use the Frontline for a while. You've got a lot of things going on and your dog needs a bit of a break from the chemicals.

For kibble recommendations, there has to be more palatable food than Iams and kibbles and bits? Kibbles and bits is like McDonalds for dog food. Not great for full time diets. Find a food that has real protein in it as the first ingredient and less corn and wheat. See if that helps palatability. Don't switch foods very fast or your dog will have an upset stomach. Switch over the time span of a few weeks and gradually mix in larger and larger portions of the new food to make the switch more transparent to the dog. Don't cave into picky behavior and feed the old food if the new food is left in the bowl. Just leave th bowl down for 15 minutes at a time and what isn't eaten gets fed next time.
