At the humane society, we have a dog named Justice. She is VERY pregnant. About 4:30 this afternoon, she was barking up a storm. We put a blanket over her cage, and she calmed down. About an hour later, I went into the room she was in to give the other Mom and babies their medicine. I thought I would check on Justice, she was so quiet. I peeked in and saw something, I thought it might be a puppy but I wasn't sure. So I ran into the lab and told Lisa and Jackie I thought Justice was having her babies. They went in to check. What I saw was indeed a puppy, but it was still in the intact sac, and it was very cold. Lisa cut the sac and put the baby boy in a warm towel. We cleared it's air passages and rubbed it to try and get him to breath. We tried for a while. This little boy was not meant to live.
He was a blondie so I named him Jacob, since I know my boy will take care of him at the bridge, and I wanted him to have a name.
We took Justice to the vet for an ultra-sound, the vet that saw her earlier in the day didn't think the babies were alive, so the ultra-sound would tell.
Please say a little prayer for Jacob, Justice and her other babies
Jakob, there is a baby coming your way for you to take care of, Momma knows you will do a great job!
