Hi All - please see post down a few threads from me. I'm sorry to see so few posts and none recent. This is a trememdous resource and we should be using it to the fullest.

Hope to see some activity next time I check in

Hi Sam glad you found us again. I didn't realize Pharaoh Hound people were also very much involved with Whippets. Grab some of the Whippet people you know and ask them to post here. We would be more than happy to chat back and forth with them.

I'll do that. I am surprised to find such an inactive board for such a popular breed. I was looking at a couple other boards for a friend who is looking at what breed would be right for her and found the same thing - no activity. I'm used to the PH people who are almost all obsessive communicators. Must be a correlation because we have a very communicative breed.

I know Basenji and RR people who have "token" whippets too. I am just delighted with mine - she is a charmer.

I certainly hope it does get more active here. Love reading about the sight hounds!

OK, to keep this going here is an update on my little rescue girl Journey. She is thriving! She was a tiny. skinny 6.5 lbs when I picked her up at 8 weeks. Now at 11 weeks today she is 10. lbs and is definitely taller and is filling out nicely. Her whippet shape is beginning to show just a bit and her muzzle has lengthened. She looks much less like a baby. Housetraining is about what you'd expect for a baby - pooping is pretty good but peeing - well I have to be vigilant still. Nothing I didn't expect.

She was given some pretty collars but needs to grow into them. Right now she has a little pink buckle collar with some sparkly bling attached and she looks very pretty in it. She's doing well in crate training and walks on the least pretty good (when she's not playing with it). She is very opinionated and knows what she wants. Nothing shy about this girl. My three Pharaohs are doing better with her every day - they were pretty put out at having to deal with A PUPPY! at first. It's fun to watch them interact and form a new pack structure.
