My sibe and sibe mix got themselves a groundhog.
The younger mix breed has been trying for so long to get theis one. He stalked like a cat for over 100ft, then charged around the tree and suprised it. Next he kept it busy (I thought he didnt know what to do with it), while my pure sibe approached quietly from behind.
The mix breed bounced around sniffing, and avoiding the groundhogs teeth. The pure sibe got withing 2 feet then struck out in a single bite around the groundhogs midsection, it died instantly.
Next came trying to take it from them since they were so proud of their kill.
I was just approaching to kill the groundhog myself when the sibe struck.

I'm finally getting used to and almost admire the natural instincts of my two predators. Although that took some time for me to develop. Sounds like you've fully embrased those instincts in your crew. It is interesting to watch to say the least as long as no one gets hurt. My younger dog Taiko injured himself chasing a rabbit not too long ago. He got a nail caught in a deck board while running. Tore up the ligaments and tendons in his shoulder. His recovery has been a long process. Yet, that injury did not stop him from getting that rabbit.

That Duke and Koda play with who is taller, and Kodas age, but looks almost like a pure German shepard (with a bushier tail, a bushier butt, and stronger straight back and hips than a pure shepard) got himself a groundhog a week or so beforehand. "Bear" caught the thing and tossed it into the air multiple times which killed it.
Duke wont bother with unfamiliar cats, he just smiles, but my mix Koda chases them and acts in a way that makes me appeciate his prey drive as very very strong. Yet Duke is all business when it comes to wild animals, he even goes onto "the zone" and wants to kill coyotes. I dont let him off of the cable to run, but the breeder from Oklahoma said that theie ranch has not had any coyotes since they started keeping huskies, the ranch is fenced in, they think their pack kills them.

Duke celebrating the kill.

The pack checking out the spoils of their hunt.

"NO, its mine", Duke out of breath.

The 2 hunters waiting for either groundhog to show their faces.
