Last year for the Holidays, it was posted to add a card to be sent to veterans at Walter Reed Hospital. Then it was learned that the cards would be thrown away. Well, this year the Red Cross stepped in and is sponsoring a "Holiday Mail for Heroes" program to distribute holiday cards to service members, a program that encompasses not just troops who are recovering in Military Hospitals, but also Service Members stationed throughout the U.S. and abroad as well as veterans and their families.
