Question....Chloramines in drinking water.....harmful to snakes?

Spardawolf Oct 10, 2003 03:40 PM

I just received a notice from my water company that starting Wednesday they are going to change the disinfection process from chlorine to chloramines. They mention that it is toxic to fish, and that you can buy a disinfectant removal product to be added to tap water prior to putting it in the fish tank. I was just wondering if this chemical was also harmful to snakes. Is there something that could be purchased at the pet store to remove it from the drinking water? Should I just buy bottled water? Any comments or help on this matter would be appreciated. Thanks

Seriously. The modern public water supply is so fricking foul that I simply don't drink it at all any more, and I resent even showering in the slop.

If you're worried at all, I think it would be way safer to just buy bottled water. It's water. Water that ain't safe for fish to live in because of chemicals isn't something I feel it would be safe to drink.

Call me radical if you want, but I'd err on the safe side.

One of those Brita water filters should still be able to remove the Chloramines...
