My 3 year old Boxer bitch went into heat on 1/7. She has developed a prolapsed vagina. I took her to see Dr. Hutch on 1/8 and he examined her then. At that time it was mild (no exposure). Today I noticed that you can just see the prolapse on the inside of her vulva. I am planning on taking her in this coming Tuesday. Dr. Hutch told me that all should be fine as far as breeding goes as long as the prolapse does not get to severe, requiring surgery or AI. Has anyone out there dealt with something like this before? If you bred were there any difficulties? She had a slight prolapse her last breeding and didn't develop the "seen prolapse" until right before she whelped. This time it is obvious even before breeding. Is there anything I can do for her in the mean time to help decrease it? She does have a cone on so she can't lick it and I keep checking to make sure she stays moist. Thank you in advance
