My pug is on Prednisone, currently 1/2 of a 5 mg table every other day for another month. She had a mast cell tumor on her brest (skin) removed the 5 months ago. She appears to be having problems with her muscles in leg joints. What would be the effects of discontinuing the Prednisone? Which is worse the joint problems or continuing the med? She is on a whole food diet and supplements and seems to be doing great with them.

This low level of Prednisone is probably not doing much, neither preventing a reoccurrance of the mast cell tumors, nor causing problems. It probably would not hurt to stop the pred and see if the dog improves, but I suspect something else is going on.
