Mast Cell Tumor

mas921 Feb 09, 2009 06:54 AM

I am trying to get some info for my sister. Her 5 year old golden retriever was just diagnosed with a Grade 2 mast cell tumor located on her side. They removed the tumor but have now told her they need to do more surgery since the margins are not clean. She is going to a specialist this week. This is her first tumor. The biopsy says it is a Grade 2 with a MI of 0. I am not sure what that means. What is the protocol for treating this? What should my sister be doing to help Daisy. She is only 5 years old?

First thing is to stop all carbohydrates, which includes dry food. I would suggest an escherotic bloodroot salve on the area to destroy any remaining cancer cells. Also give large amounts of Vit. D, and mushroom immune stimulents.

Thank you for your response. What do you suggest to feed a dog. Right now she eats Natural Choice dry food and some boiled chicken and vegetables. If I eliminate the dry food what do I subsitute it with so I know she is getting a balanced diet? Thank you for your help.

A basic diet for a dog consists of meat, bone, omega 3 fatty acids, and a probiotic, so feeding chicken and giving bones, along with the other things I recommended will give her a balanced diet.
