I finally got a spare moment and checked out a hunch I've had for a while. Kita and Kona (Dave's dog) have always looked like siblings to me. Well, I now have proof that they are related 4 generations back by both a great great grandmother and great great grandfather. Not sure if that pair had multiple breedings or not. Kind of fun to find out they are distantly related. Granted- most shibas can be traced back to 3 original shibas, but even Kita and Taiko I have to go back about 7 generations before I start seeing familiarities in their pedigrees. Still haven't found the link yet.

OMG that is too funny! You can totally see the resemblence. And having the pleasure of meeting Kona numerous times I can say Kita should be proud to be related to him!
