Just some stuff...

It seems the forum has been slow lately...what's everyone been up to? Maybe I'll get some chit chat going. If not, oh well...I tried...hehehe!

I've been trying to figure out why my tempermental little R. Brev is still acting weird...still pacing, staying a dark green/black color. I put her in a temporary set up so she couldn't see out (or her reflection) to see if that would help. So far, she is still doing it. I also put her on regular soil with no reptibark...so that she will dig if she is wanting to lay eggs.

In the meantime, my little male (Petrie) that she tried to eat is doing well. He's not very active, so I wonder about that...but I think I'm just a worry wart...he wanders around occasionally, but mostly hangs out for the better part of the day. I still haven't seen him eat, but I have seen him stalking some stuff...so hopefully he is. I'm going to get an unrelated female for him (one that won't eat him...LOL!).

I'm still waiting on a female Carpet. There are supposed to be some CBB that will be sexable in just over a week. So, HOPEFULLY, I'll be able to get one of those girls. I want to get a set up started, but I'm afraid I'll jinx myself...LOL!

We got our male Carpet set up in his new enclosure. It's glass on two sides and screen on the top and the two other sides...it also has glass along the bottom of the screen to about 4 or 5" high to keep the substrate in. I'm trying hard to keep humidity up (and the temps...my dads house is on the cool side), while still providing good cross ventilation. So far, he's liking it...but he sure does just hang out in his basking spot all day...makes me wonder why on earth I got him such a large cage...LOL!

Anyway, that's it for now...anyone have anything exciting going on? Lele, how is Luna?

Oh...*somehow* we ended up with three red-eared sliders after attending an expo in Tallahassee...don't ask me how...ask the man who looked at me like I was evil when I told my 3 year old "no turtles"...he asked so sweetly, and another little boy was getting some...I think he thought the man was giving them away, and he was wondering why on earth he didn't give him any. So, I caved...ugh.

I for one have been very busy setting up cages for my 4 new crested coming next week. Also been setting up a false bottom set up for a local pet shop to house some Posion dart frogs in. Not to mention my own setting up of a rubbermaid false bottom with drain nozzle set up to individually house dome Uroplatus Phantasticus.

So Ive been busy!

My female cham still hates my male - so Ill wait for a month or so before trying again. My Male still loves the female though...

Im also working up plans to make a rack system that will hold two 66 qt rubbermaids..be 2x2 surface area. that way I can house my cresteds under my chams cages (they would be on top).

running out of room!

Aren't we all running out of room...LOL! I need to figure out a way to house my chams in the barn...then, maybe, my hubby would be more forgiving about how many I have (or will have...hehehe).

You have been busy...isn't it fun anticipating new arrivals? I can't wait...sounds like you're having fun though.

Hope that female changes her mind soon. For your sake..hehe

hey Kristen (did you get my email?)

Funny you should say this. I wasn't thinking so much about it slowing down but there have not been a whole lot of tragedies for awhile. There were a couple runs of everyone's cham dying (including yours and mine) Most of what's being posted is happy stuff, photos, new setups, etc. I guess the "no news is good news" pertains to cyberspace as well! HEy, how 'bout some photos opf YOUR kids!?!?! the four-legged ones!

Hey Lele...no, I didn't get your e-mail...guess it's lost in cyberspace.

Yes, that's probably true...and for the better. I just noticed that today, there were not many posts...and over the past few days, it seems like I go back to expect there to be many post and there are only a few.

Take care

I also noticed that the forum has been a little slow.... Maybe the weekend will pick things up a bit. Anyone else planning on going to the San Diego show next weekend? I'm excited I haven't been to the San Diego show since the October show of 2002. It was a good one. I've just been going to the Pomonas I think every time they've had one there in the last 2 years. I got some CASH saved up finally and I'm gonna have fun!

What are you gonna get? I'm jealous...I WISH I could go to the show...I'm in FL, so I'm afraid it's too far of a trip...hehehe.

If you're in Florida, then I'm jealous of you because you get more shows and bigger shows in your area than I do. Plus, you can keep chams outside all year or at least most of it. I don't know what I'm going to get in San Diego, but I need LOTS of supplies and feeders (and 6 screen cages) so I've been making a list of those. I'll probably get at least 1 panther, maybe 2. I'm just gonna see what they have. I really need a female Tamatave but I've been putting it off. I don't think anyone at that show will have any. I love the shows cause there's no shipping and you see what you're getting before you get it and you can pick and choose.

I havent been doing much since school started, but my chameleons have. I am running a small experiment on UVB and stuff, it isnt fun, but i hope i can help out the cham community. My female veiled layed 91 eggs, and so far, ALL of them seem fertile (due to hatch any day now). Very cool huh? Anyways my birthday is coming up and i either want a mellers, a ball python or a paintball gun. And Trinacliff, where in florida are you? Im in FL too.

with regards,

Anthony.
