My wife and I got this puppy from a shelter so we do not know his true genetic make-up but whereever we go we are asked, "Is he part Rhodesian Ridgeback?" Any thoughts? The picture is attached to this link.

He certainly does have the right makeup and coloring though he may be mixed with another breed. It's hard to tell from the picture... does he have the trademark ridge of hair going up his back?

I should have added - Do you think he is part Rhodesian Ridgeback? We never thought he was pure. He's too short (currently 60 pounds at nine months) and ridgeless. We think of him as a wanna-be ridgeless Rhodesian ridgeback ( :
There's some Ridgeback in the line, but the rest that he is mixed with is tough to tell. There are DNA tests out there that you can take a cheek swab from your pet and get a good idea of the mix. May want to do that out of curiosity if it matters to you.
