Sue sent an e-mail this morning; I'm forwarding with her permission. Don't you love good news?
Hi, All!
I am pleased to be able to report that healing is continuing at a steady pace (not even sure I want to call it "slow" anymore, though I know it will take lots of time). Music has shown such spirit, spunk (unlike Lou Grant, it seems that I LOVE spunk), and downright happiness.
She continues to heal and her energy level has hit the playful level a few times this week...lots of tail wagging and, yesterday, I think she wanted a good romp in the yard (but settled for trotting out for a good pee).
This has been the alternative medicines week -- Reiki on Monday, Acupuncture on Tuesday, and Yarrow Powder daily -- in addition to the antibiotics and wound flushing from the Vet (although I did find out that I'd been mixed up on doses of Antibiotic for Music and Amber -- in my tired state I hadn't realized that I had 2 different strengths of the Clavamox here -- so they've been getting some mix of each other's doses. No harm appears to have come from it and Amber is finished with meds).
So...despite my best efforts to screw it up, Music heals, Amber is pretty much there, and all is peaceful here. The dogs are getting gradual increases in their time out of crates together -- with supervision, of course -- and I'm seeing no signs of trouble. Amber is listening well to commands to come, sit, and lie down so that Music will not be bothered by her, but Music seems to be OK with having them both around.
OK -- this wasn't so short after all -- but it definitely is SWEET to me. Yesterday, I found myself close to tears (of the happy kind) just being able to pet Music's soft head and feel her snuggle against me.
She truly is my Warrior Princess -- she fought quite a battle to get through to this point of healing.
Thanks, again, to the very supportive friends and family who have helped us get to this point. Love, Sue, Music, Isis, and Amber
