Hello Out There,
Well, I took about 150 pictures of Beni and Kari and bought an ISB connection (thanks Bob for telling me about this). The guy at Best Buy said it was simple to transfer pictures from a camera to the computer and send them out...he obviously didn't listen when I told him I was clueless...4 hours later, and thanks to a great neighbor, I don't think I lost or damaged anything...we'll see. I'm too tired to try sending pics tonight, but I am on the right track. In the meantime, my Queen Kari loves to be Alpha female w/Beni (my big boy)...she loves to behave like an alpha male when she is marking her territory and has even become aggressive during meals if she finishes first (I have stopped her, but I can see she still wants Beni's food). When she is out without him (maybe 1 out of a 100 times) she is always turning around to look for him, and is not assertive/aggressive at all. Do you think she truly is alpha or just wants others to know they are a pack?

Welcome! Picture posting/editing, etc is not my forte, but you'll get the hang of it and we always enjoy ohhing and ahhing over a new pup.

As for your female being a bit surly with your male- normal everyday shiba stuff. She's a girl, he's a boy, there's little need for her to be dealing with the alpha issues with him. She's just asserting her likes and dislikes on him. It's more like she's the "manners police" and wants to make sure he doesn't forget. Girls can just be that way. I know mine is and I love her for it, but MOODY can be her middle name.

Again welcome and pics when you get around to it are always welcome.

Hi Patty! You're welcome for the help so far and it sounds like you're on the right track to getting pictures posted. If you already have the pictures on your computer... the hard part is done! Once you have the photos in a folder on your hard drive the rest is easy. Follow the instructions below but don't get frustrated if you can't do it at first. It reads and sounds more complicated than it really is and we'll be here to help you.

Posting pictures....

At the top of the page, Click on the tab that says Photos
Scroll down to Shiba Inu. Click.
Find where it says Upload Photo.
If you haven't registered you will have to do so first.
Once done scroll down to the Shiba Inu section
Click on Upload Photo.
When the page opens...where it says Choose a category
be sure it says Shiba Inu.
Click on Browse. Find your photo in the dialogue box and click open.
There is also a link to upload multiple pictures if you choose to do so.
Enter a Title for your photo.
Click Upload/Submit.
Do this proceedure for all your photos, you have 10mb of free storage here.
Now go back to the Shiba forum. Enter your post as normal, scroll down below the text box to where it says Select Image from Photo Gallery. Use the drop down arrow to find the photo you would like to post, and click on the photo.
You can also hold down your CTRL key and highlite up to three photos to place in a post.
If you would like to title your photos or place a little story about them you can do so easily by copying the URL that is at the bottom of each uploaded picture. To find the url, click to enlarge the picture and you will find the url below the photo. Just copy any or all Urls into Notepad or something similar. When posting pictures using the URL's you will need to add [ IMG ] and [ /IMG ] before and after the url. Please note there should be no spaces in the brackets, that was just for posting purposes.
I would use the Preview feature to be sure your picture(s) loads, once done just click on Post Message.
Please post any questions if you run into difficulty, everyone here can help you out.

Hello Bob,

I got to the part where you said to click on "Browse", but I couldn't find it -
I did try a few creative things to see if a few of my pictures would go through...
I'm hoping for a miracle!

When you are at the photo gallery and are ready to upload photos first you need need to have them saved in a folder on your hard drive. Next you want to click on upload for one photo or click on the link for multiple photos. Once that happens you should see the following image....

Click on browse(see arrow)navigate to the folder on your hard drive that has the pictures in it. Click on the photo and then on open... that will add the photo to the gallery then move on to the next photo. When you are done click on upload. This may take a few minutes. When done, you can find the photos in the box under this message area.. you can highlite up to three per post. When you get this far I'll show you another way to post photos. Good luck and if you have questions just ask, we can all help you.

Regarding Kari asserting herself. The Shiba Inu is a breed that will always want to be Alpha no matter the breed of the other dog. Within the breed itself the female is alpha so Kari is letting Beni know who is ruling the roost. It's pretty common for the feamle Shiba to be a bit moody. My Toshi is a perfect example!
