Taiko is back and he's better than ever!

Chelle Mar 16, 2009 01:52 PM

It is with great pride and a humbling sense of wonder that I present my new CPE agility champion Taiko!

Last weekend I travelled with a friend to a CPE agility trial in IL. When Taiko was injured oh so many months ago, we needed 2 qualifying runs to finish our championship title. A pursuit that started over 3 years ago and took more than 100 qualifying runs to get to. I went on this trip with my friend as a way to get our feet wet in the agility game running Taiko "at speed." He's slower in class than in shows and I really wanted to test out his "new legs" in a low stress atmosphere. I entered the 2 classes we needed hoping for the best, but realizing the odds of us finishing his title were slim at best. He'd been doing fine in class- as if he'd never taken any time off. Me though- my timing was bad and we weren't as in sync as I'm used to. Thankfully, Taiko didn't care and all he felt like doing was running. Thankfully as well, the courses were very "Taiko friendly" and worked to our strengths and not our weaknesses. I am so happy he qualified on those runs, but I'm even more estatic that we are able to run agility together again. Words can never describe the feeling of running an agility course at full speed with a dog grinning happily through the course. So, here I introduce: CPE Agility Champion Taiko!

Chelle, this is just super wonderful! What a beauty he is, posing with his beautiful Blue Ribbon! I love the "in action' pic as well. You went through so much to get him well again and it has been such a success!

Here's to many more Blue Ribbons!

Chelle

Just wanted to add that I LOVE your website on Taiko and Kita....
It was wonderful reading about the history of your dogs, and how much you have been through together....You must be so proud of both of their accomplishments!!!

Thanks! A friend set it up for me. I have learned how to maintain it and never really knew how easy it was to do. It's still evolving, but it's been fun.

You know I'd love to take in Kona- the problem- Kita has a rule of tolerating only one shiba as a time. Taiko's got the spot currently. Taiko is of a similar opinion about other shibas staying for extended periods of time- they must leave after 3 days or else. LOL!

So we swap pups... You get Kona for a bit and I will take Kita. Since they are realted, we both know how to handle them.. The little imps that they are.

Have you been reading my updates on Kita recently? Be careful- I may just take you up on that offer for a swap! LOL! Kita's been more than just an imp lately. LOL!
