Dog Throwing Up Too Much

colorfulcritters Mar 28, 2009 09:19 AM

My dog's throwing up all the time after she eats. Don't know what's wrong. She eats ticks sometimes, and I'm fearing for the worst. Could it be a sign of lyme disease?

You need to take her to the veterinarian right away. She could become dehydrated from vomiting, and that is extremely dangerous.

I'm afraid I'd mispoke. I'd meant, she throws up all the time after she eats her food. Sometimes it's frequent. Other times, she holds it in.

Thing is, she chews and eats those big dog ticks. She's had this stomach malaise, however, for the past 9mos. I 'will' take her to the vet, but just can't right now, so am looking for anyone who's had a dog with the same symptoms.

I have a dog that we adopted from a shelter. She also used to throw up alot. Not every time after eating, but about once a week. After numerous trips to the vet, worming, antibiotics, etc., we figured out she has Inflammatory Bowel Syndrome - or, to put it a different way, food sensitivity. We have her now on a limited ingredient diet, and she is doing very well. However, you should see your vet to rule out things like worms, giardia (yes dogs can get it), or even an ulcer.
