Update to the Update on Kaia

kona63 Mar 29, 2009 07:08 AM

We it was a long day for my little guy yesterday. Blood was drawn twice, he had xrays and before they could do the 2nd blood test Kaia needed to eat. He wanted nothing to do with food, so they ended up feeding him with a syringe. After they started he loved it and at up his food. Xray look great. The doc examined him from the tip of his nose to the tip of his tail. If he does have some form of liver issues, we were recommended to take Kaia to Cornell to see Dr. Sharon Center. She is the for most expert in liver diseases in the world. Right now its a waiting game till the blood work comes back on Monday. I am praying that it is good and then we can figure out what is really going on with this little guy. It was also suggested it might be behavioral. If that is the case we can deal with that.

Thank you for the updates. Nice to read it's not as serious as originally thought. I hope Cornell can help you out. The liver can repair itself so hopefully once you are on the right track to figuring out the cause, this can get under control. All paws crossed for you and Kaia.

What kind of behavior (symptoms) is Kaia having? I hope you get the blood reports back soon. It's awful to sit around and wait!

Dave sounds like a lot going on but we're hoping of course for the lesser of all evils. If there is something going on with the liver maybe your vet can do a referal right then so you swing by Cornell on the way back home. I take Beni there on Thursday.
