My friend, Alex, who is making a poster for Timber found this poem. I think it applies to all our beloved greys in the way they touch you too.

A Special Poem for Disabled Pets

Most pets have the use of two eyes,
Some have one or none.

Most pets can hear through both ears,
Some hear a little, some hear nothing at all.

Most pets can eat anything and visit the vet but once a year,
Some need special food, shots or medicine.

Most pets go potty on a walk or in the yard,
Some wear ‘hot pants’ or go on a special matt inside.

Most pets walk in normal stride,
Some hop along or roll in wheelchairs.

Differences exist between most and some, but does it really mean that much?
All pets have such great big hearts and yearn to feel love’s touch.

Opening your mind, home and heart to a disabled pet will prove one thing for sure,
The love and thanks you'll receive in return will touch your life like never before.

Nance,
You know, that is so true. We had Blue (our first Dal) who was deaf in one ear, Dakota who had juvenile cataracts and is blind in his right eye (and still manages to
*hab and injoi alla him's adbenshures*) and Jazzy who had a broken right hock, has pannus in both eyes, has always had happy tail and now is proud owner of a stubby tail that still goes mad like a helpopter blade and who has always been my accident waiting to happen... and is still my happiest boy who wants nothing more than to have his love returned.
I loved the poem.. it is so so so very true.
