Angolan Pythons

Muse Oct 10, 2003 05:34 PM

I would like to acquire a pair of Angolan Pythons but realize that they are far and few between, and therefore quite expensive. I would like to explore the possibility of importing them. Does anyone have any suggestions or experience that they would be willing to share?
Thanks,
Mary Ann

They are not so uncommon that you should look to import them...besides it would be harder to import than it would be to but CB animals. There are some for sale usually in the classifieds. Look up Casey Lasik.

Although it would be nice to have new blood, it may not happen anytime soon. They are considered almost sacred in both Namibia and Angola, so taking them is a no-no, and you would be hard pressed to find anyone to walk through a mine field to get one. You may be able to get new blood from Europe, or somewhere outside the US, but getting them from the wild is very hard to do and has only been accomplished a few times
