Spring has sprung....

Skaket Apr 09, 2009 07:09 PM

I should add..."I think" because you just never know here in New England. We've been known to have snow in April but at least it doesn't last very long. Poor Katie did not benefit from the lovely day since I decided to give her a bath. She's such a good girl for her bath and trim but I can tell that she's not thrilled. Hopefully, others are enjoying beautiful weather also for the Easter weekend.

I was outside cleaning an area around my pond. Usually, my plants and fancy (expensive) tree are hidden by all the wild growth so I pushed everything back... pulling out poison ivy as I was going... so the black mulch will accent the pond.

I AM EXHUSTED!! As I was working I was thinking "oh great, my allergies aren't bothering me" Yea, right, they caught up.

And to make things worse, the man who bought some of my goats called to say there was a problem and I just couldn't go. He lives an hour away. He was going to truck her here but I thought that would be too much stress on her. I'll see how she is tomorrow. Sigh... I wish he didn't call me...

Hope your spring will stick around!

I took Trudy to get her nails trimmed and a Bordetella shot today. Then, we went for a walk. Pretty day.

THEN I worked in the yard, trimming and getting some weeds out. The mulch keeps most weeks out, but there are always some in spring. My back is TIGHT tonight.

Well, spring is still hanging around, Sally but wish it would warm up a little more. After doing a grocery shopping this morning, Katie and I went to Petco. Katie, as usual, forgot to bring her purse, so I got stuck with the bill. LOL

Not much is growning here yet but the grass is starting to look like grass again. It just needs a little more warm weather and sunshine.

It sounds like you've been a busy gal, Dee. Be careful with the poison ivy. I've never had it but not one to say that I can't catch it. I've seen folks who were miserable with it. Hope your little goat is ok.

I don't get poison ivy. My husband and son do but I don't. I do and did get poison oak though. In the little space between my gloves and shirt. Not bad, already clearing up.

Goat is fine. I told him to feed her some Tums and that worked. Sometimes they go into a Calcium shock after giving birth and the Tums settles it.

I still have one left to give birth and I'm hoping she goes tomorrow so I don't miss Easter again. I am also having trouble with my one goat. She is being so mean to all the other goats that I have to separate her. She is even attacking her adult daughter who she always hung out with before.

I never had poison ivy either, Dee and then I got a real bad case of it. I'm more careful now and haven't had any since.

Glad the goat is fine and hope the next birth goes well. I wonder why the other goat turned mean all of a sudden. Have you ever had that happen before?

She was a bottle baby and didn't really learn goatie manners. She has always been a brat. She would even hide in the barn, waiting for another doe's kids to come in so she could beat on them.

She is really good raising her own kids but she is attacking her adult kid now and they used to be inseparable. Poor daughter is miserable and still pregnant.

Even through her Mom didn't raise her, she still kept her in line. Mom got sold and is no longer here sooo...

Oh my goodness, Dee she sure looks pregnant. Don't forget to get some pictures of the little ones when they arrive.
