I got back the results for my puppy, I think the test was from Bio Pet Vet Labs. First of all, this is a list of what people told me she looked like (it's funny how many people were soooo sure of what her breed(s) are):
English Pointer
Longhair English Pointer (I didn't know those existed)
Australian Cattle Dog (purebred, I was told)
Border Collie (rescue told me she was a BC mix)
Australian Shepherd (lots of people told me she was definatly a BC/AS mix)
Newfoundland (groomer and vet said so)
Beagle (I'm not seeing it)
German Shorthair Pointer
Great Pyrenees (different vet thought so)
and here are the results (drumroll please...)
Jezzie is atleast 75% Great Pyrenees!
it only listed one breed because the other breed(s) are too little to detect(based on her appearence, I doubt it) or it is a breed not listed in their database(english pointer and Australian cattle dog were not listed). either way, she's mostly Great Pyrenees, not what I expected, I was thinking Newfoundland/pointer mix. Now that I know, I can really see the Great Pyrenees, if I look past the coat color/markings and the curly tail.
I have to say that I'm glad that I got her tested because I think it will help a lot with me knowing how to train her. It also explains a lot of things, like the barking, sloppy drinking, wandering when off the leash, and a little stubborn. I still love her though, I couldn't have asked for a better puppy for I first-time dog owner. She learns fast, especially when food is involved...
