Mending Broken Hearts

gramaroo Apr 26, 2009 11:43 AM

I was going through some paperwork the other day. (Harry inspired me with his picture sorting) I came upon the post I wrote when Tigger Roo went to the Bridge. I have not read this for a few years and each previous time I read it, my heart broke all over again. Strangely, this time I read it, and after a few wistful sighs, it occurred to me that in the last few months, actually in the last year, my heart must have mended somehow.
After pondering this miracle, I got the slap on the forehead that is so popular in one of the commercial, gee silly, of course your heart mended. Did you not take another greyhound into it and didn't said greyhound work the magic like before?
The answer is YES, YES, and YES....silly as I am, how could I have forgotten that... I have had many greyhounds walk through my heart since the loss of Tigger Roo. some of them stayed for just a while, others are still there today. The beginning of the healing started with a little red and white pup and ended with a big black boy. Many others in between helped my broken heart to pass the time. The stories and needs of my Board family kept me unaware of what was happening and nature and DoG took care of the rest. Thanks to all of you that were a part of this miracle. You helped to make it happen and most of all, thank you Tigger Roo for leading me to this place.

Helen, the people on this board and the AOL board are some of the best people in the world. Their love, support, and empathy have helped most of us cope and heal at one time or another. It doesn't matter whether the support is a beautifully phrased paragraph, a simple cyber hug or prayers we don't personally hear, we know that what counts is knowing the love and support is there.
