Our niece was attacked and needs prayers

Gwensgang Apr 26, 2009 06:57 PM

You know, I am just so sick and tired of irresponsible dog owners and
especially ones who have vicious dogs (and yes, even ones who have *mops* and
ankle biters). Butch's sister Linda lives in Southeastern Ohio just outside
of St Clairsville in a teeny little town that used to be a prosperous coal
mining community. Recently Linda got a new neighbor who owns a Pit mix.
A couple of days ago the pit mix came into Linda's yard and attacked her
daughter Amanda. This animal put Amanda down on the ground and had it not
been for another neighbor hearing her screaming for help she would probably
not be alive. The neighbor who came to her aid had to beat the dog off of
Amanda with a metal pipe. Mandy lost a lot of blood and was rushed to the
hospital and then life flighted to a hospital in Pittsburg. The doctors
there don't think that she will ever have use of her hand and arm again, but
she has been released and is now home. The sheriff was called and told
Linda that there was nothing that he could do even though this is the second
time that this dog has attacked. He said that the health department had to
order the dog to be picked up (making mental note to call Linda and advise
her to contact the dog warden) but that if the dog comes onto Linda's
property she can shoot it. Linda doesn't own a gun, doesn't know how to use one
but has 2 big brothers who are more than willing to give her a couple of
quick lessons. Anyway, the reason for this is to ask for prayers, white
light and more prayers for Mandy. I am sure that Linda is going to have a
hard time getting the neighbor to pay for anything although he did come over
and apologize.

What an awful thing to happen. Very best wishes for a speedy recovery and a more complete healing than you are anticipating right now.

Gwen, prayers are on the way for Mandy and Linda. I hope that the doctors are wrong about Mandy's arm and hand.

I also hope that something can be done about that dog and its owner.

OMG, what a horrible thing! I hope with medicine and therapy Amanda will regain the use of her arm and hand.

Dogs and cats come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.

Prayers for your niece, Mandy. We won't get me started on irresponsible owners.
