more on our niece

Gwensgang Apr 27, 2009 09:32 PM

I talked with Linda last night and she asured me that she would be talking with an attorney this morning. The health department was supposed to call her today, and she just wants that dog out of there. When the owner was asked if the dog had it's rabies shots he replied that he couldn't remember. Amanda will be having reconstructive surgery on her fingers and they will know more tomorrow when she goes back to the hospital.

He doesn't know??? Can't they at least take the dog for observation just on that? Surely there requirements for Rabies shots. What am I saying? If he doesn't keep the dog under control when it's already bitten someone else, of course he doen't take proper care of it. There is a special place in H*&l for creatures like that, and I'm not referring to the dog.

Prayers ongoing for your niece, her mother and the rest of you too.

How can you not know if your dog has had shots? Don't all states require rabie shots? Too bad our firm doesn't practice law in Ohio.

Keep us posted on Mandy. How old is she Gwen?

Amanda isn't a small child (probably a good thing), she is in her 20's and is working her way through nursing school. She did go to Pittsburg yesterday and was told that her hand is still way to swollen to do anything. Naturally, she is frustrated. She feels that her entire life is on hold right now.
As for rabies shots.. they are *supposed* to be required in Ohio too. In my humble opinion I think that every community should to check rabies innoculations records before issuing dog license. Oh .. what AM I thinking... only the responsible people bother with dog license...

You're right about that. Personally, I think that if dogs and cats aren't given rabies shots the owner should be put under a jail.
