Spring rain

DnDShihTzu Apr 29, 2009 10:03 PM

Between rain showers I managed to get my tomato, bean, and water melon seedlings in the ground. We are expecting even more rain the next several days. I guess that is good it will help everything take root and not get sun burned until they adjust.

My dwarf fruit trees are getting foliage and hopefully will get a few pears and apples this year, they said the second year they will fruit so we'll see. I also have nanking cherry bush and it is starting to get tiny flowers all over, those will change into edible cherries. My strawberries from last year just came back on their own I really didn't do anything and they have lots and lots of green berries that will get red if we ever get any sun....

leaving Friday for Texas dog shows....keep your fingers crossed for me......

Wow, Denice it sounds like you're getting a head start on the plantings. We've been having some beautiful weather here in CT as well but it's still a little too early to put in most plants. I did put a little grass seed down in a few places that went bad over the winter but won't start to put any flowers in until May.

I wish you and the doggies the best on your trip to Texas for the shows. Bring home lots of ribbons.

Hey, if you're in Houston, way to Katy. My sister lives in Katy. Actually, Ayla came from that area too.
Good luck with the show.
