I saw this too on another board. Hope folk won't be too disappointed but will still go and enjoy meeting up with old friends and maybe organise some smaller activities there on their own. Will still be watching the Rehoboth webcam over the Dewey weekend and hoping to see lots of greys around.

sorry to hear this but in all honesty, it has gotten way out of hand recently, Too much orgnaization can kill some things. i never went jsut for the brunch but did enjoiy the seminars. I will still be going to Dewey and enjoying the friends Ihave met and meet there....my guess is that another group will grab the reins and make a "new" Dewey tradition.

GRTB may not be the organized event that it had become, but, to me, it doesn't matter. I went to the brunch one time in all the years that I have been going. So for me, it won't be much different. Hounds, friends and shopping. The saddest part is the lack of $$ that will be going to OSU. I hope that someone comes up with an idea for generating some of those $$ that came from the raffles, etc. Not sure about Dewey wanting $$ for licenses for each dog though. That is a lot of $$ for a weekend if you have multiple dogs. Thank goodness it has already been taken care of for this weekend.
Butch said a few years ago that it seemed that the town of Dewey was tired of hosting the weekend and that it was starting to evolve toward Rehoboth. We will just have to wait and see what happens. Me, Dakota, Aimee and a surprise friend are going this year.
