Wireless Fence Receiver Problem

We love our wireless fence system, it keeps the dogs away from the road. But our Basset has a problem with the receiver collar, We've even tried retrofitting a harness to hold the receiver instead, but the vet said that his skin folds cause the receiver prongs to rub a raw spot which has twice gotten infected. Has anyone else had this problem and found a solution?
