Report on Snoopy's Shadow

gramaroo May 05, 2009 07:49 AM

The xrays did not show any evidence of the nasty cancer, tumors or other bone issues. The vet placed him on another medicine which seems to be working...no recent night screaming in almost a week...as you may know, the big "C" does not always show up on early radiographs...the vet feels this is not a cancer issue at this time but reserves judgement for three weeks....it seems that cancer does not always show on xrays until three weeks after
discovery of the intial lump. (never knew that) Although it seems that Shad has dodged the bullet this time, he is not exactly out of the woods. Did you know that they have "Cannine Sports Injury Specialists" ? If Shad has more problems, the vet will refer him to one of these for further testing to determine if this is a deep injury to soft tissue...and I had no idea that Shad even played sports!! Thanks to all that sent wishes and support. AS for the DH...he is still hanging on....Bill has more lives than the proverbial cat.....send thanks for wishes there also...till next time...GR

Oh Helen, I'm so glad there's no cancer. I'll keep praying that there isn't in the future either. I sure hope whatever is bothering him, gets cleared up soon. I'll be keeping your hubby in my prayers also. Thanks for the update.

Helen, Vinka had a "deep injury to soft tissue" to her right front paw, she would scream at night or start limping for no apparent reason. We don't know if she stressed the old injury or what, so of course there were sssssssseveral x-rays over the years...that showed absolutely nothing. There was never anything specific done for it; sometimes it just bothered her and she'd yelp. Prayers being said that there is no cancer...period.

Harry says find a good horse vet since Doc Berryhill swears Greyhounds are horses in a dog suit.

Prayers are continuing for Bill and the rest of you.

Good to hear it isn't cancer, but I know you're still worried. Maybe you have an animal ciropractor. We took Kira to one for back pain and he did wonders for her. Between realignment of her spine and accupunture, she really did alot better with pain.

Good luck!

Dogs and cats come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.
