Need advice from Australian shep showers

Komodoryu May 10, 2009 11:36 PM

I'm considering getting my first show dog. I have 2 aussies currently, so i'm familiar with the breed, I'm new to showing though. I have some mentors to get the basics but they dont breed or show aussies so they cant help me there. These are the 3 i'm looking at for show dogs. The first 2 are males, the last is the pick of the litter female($250 more then the others and shes the one i'm leaning towards)

male 1:

male 2:

female:

I don't have Aussies nor do I show but have been around shows for a very long time. If the breeder you are getting your dog from show their dogs then that is the best place to start for you. The female is a good looking dog but one thing to ask yourself is does the dog conform to the breed standard.

All look nice, but I think the second male is the one I'd pick from the picture. Granted, getting hands on them is far more important at this stage in their development. Good luck with whichever you choose and have fun. The conformation world is an interesting one.
