Can anyone recommend a good west coast shiba breeder?

I am located in Southern California, and will be forever indebted to Marisa Wilson (Shiba breeder), for allowing us to adopt Kari (Beni's girlfriend). Her friend - the fabulous Debbie - (who is also a Shiba breeder), was the one that rescued Beni on that cold, rainy February day 4 years ago. Beni was, and is, a unique dog...as all Shibas are...and I soon realized that when we left for work he was lonely. To make a long story not so long Marisa told us about a special Shiba she had available - her Kari, daughter of Sunni. She didn't want to breed her because of low thyroid (still not sure what that means), and was willing to give us a chance with her. The first month was hell - fighting toe to toe, Shiba screaming, refusing to walk together, etc.... I truly thought they would kill each other if I didn't have them separated when someone wasn't around. I called Marisa EVERY DAY, sometimes 2-3 times a day for advice, and she was ALWAYS there. Marisa is the type of breeder that truly cares about EVERY Shiba she is aware of. Every time we go to a Shiba picnic, or get together, Kari senses when we get close to Marisa - she gets very excited - and when she sees Marisa she will actually leap into her arms ( without Marisa bending down) and lick her face like crazy!!! It is so wonderful knowing how loved Kari was, and still is!!!!

So...Here is Marisa's email that I give you with pleasure!

I second Marisa as well!

Patty, I have Sunni's granddaughter. Kari is my Tsuki's aunt!

Have we met at the July picnic in Placentia? If not, we are definitely going again this year, and I hope to see you there. Kari is such a jaunty girl, she is Shiba personified!
Beni, cool as a cucumber....until the right switch is turned on....and then Watch Out!
I love them, they are the perfect pups for me!!!

I want to wish all of you out there a Memorable Memorial Day Weekend!!! Have fun with your pups, and, of course...lots of Shiba smiles, belly rubs, and extra curly tails...
