shed problem?

nairobi1 Oct 10, 2003 06:41 PM

I have recently acquired a leopard gecko and know very little about it other than it's a female. (It was abandoned in a mobile home and we found it about 3 weeks after the renters left.) I know it has to be at least 2 years old. Here's the question: On the tip of about 4 of her toes she has little white "bulbs". I'm thinking maybe this is a build-up of sheds that never came off? She just had a shed and 2 of her toes didn't shed completely. Is there anything I can do to help get the unshed skin off her toes, and do you think that those white "bulbs" on the tips of her other toes is a build up of shed? If so any suggestions on what to do about those? Other than her toes she seems to be in very good condition and is eating well.

This is a common shedding problem, and can usually be easily solved. Gently dab the areas of dead skin with a moist q-tip, and if necesary, rub very gently.
Good luck

you can also fill a pan with warm water just enough to cover up to her belly and let her soak about 30min and the shed should come off rubbing with a q-tip if the q-tip didnt work the 1st time
