My girl Tru!

Ragsysmum May 26, 2009 04:58 AM

Tru is such a pain!! Out in the garden in the sunshine yesterday the boys laid down happily near me whilst I was weeding. Tru went off to eat walnut shells, bamboo shoots and pigeon poo again and then kept pestering the boys to play, with whines and barks. Finally I put her inside so the boys could rest in peace and I didn't have to keep checking what she was doing only then she started barking and howling, so eventually I had to let her back out again . I fastened her on a long lead so she could move from sun to shade but couldn't actually reach anything she shouldn't have, and got on with the weeding. A short time later Tru is wandering across the garden back to the walnut tree base having chewed through the lead and set herself free! Suppose I could try muzzling her but somehow I'm sure she'd have an answer for that one too!! Little madam that she is! Needless to say I didn't get much weeding done at all!

Have you tried substitution for the garden goodies? A favorite toy or a raw hide chew?

You don't really think she would prefer a rawhide chew to walnut shells and poop surely?? you don't know my girl Tru!! She doesn't really have a favourite toy as the only sort she likes are soft squeaky ones which she rips apart in a couple of minutes to get the squeaker so I still have to watch her with those. She will chew on a proper bone for a while but still needs watching with that and then of course the boys want one too or there will be even more trouble. I think she was sent here to be a trial and she is doing a super job of it!!

Sue, you will forever have conversation starters in any Grey community...for that matter any pet community. I don't know whether to congratulate or commiserate.

It never ends where Tru is concerned! Just now she was lying asleep on the bed as I was checking out the board and she started to run and yelp in her sleep, causing both boys to leap up and run.....in case she was after them again!! Even sleeping she can cause havoc!!

what a naughty vixen that Tru gal is....I have a "friend" for her over here on this side of the big pond that could match her antics. our Lizzie "lizard lips" is quite the daredevil ...she jumped the eight foot tir wall here and other than a scraped hind paw (and Anne's and My heart attacks) got away scott free..this is Lizzies tenth injury to the left side of her body in less than a year.......what a character! Maybe Tru and Liz are related..
