So I just got a cute little lemon beagle puppy and quickly discovered that she likes to eat her own poop.

Whenever I'm with her, I can obviously clean it up before she gets to it... But while I'm at work, and she's in the kitchen (where she stays when nobody is home) she'll be by herself and if she happens to poop.. then she basically turns around and eats it.

While this is really gross.. I'm more worried about whether this is healthy or unhealthy. I don't want her to catch some sort of disease.

Any tips or tricks that anybody could suggest? Thank you.

If you can't be there to pick up the mess every single time, then the problem may persist I'm sorry to say. This problem is really only solved via prevention of it starting to become a habit.

You may want to consider a crate while you are at work. Most puppies won't soil in their sleeping area.
