We are FINALLY home

Gwensgang Jun 01, 2009 09:05 PM

We finally make it home. We usually stay through Sunday since Sunday is the day that Butch and I take Jake (our Grandson who goes with us) for *fun* stuff. We got home somewhat later than anticipated, but who anticipates the trailer frame breaking in fast, furious traffic in Charleston W Va. Thank doG for rope and bungee cords. We looked like the Beverly Hillbillies going down the road. I had to take most of the bags from the trailer and put them in the back of the Magnum, the cooler went where my feet are supposed to be, so I spent the last 4 hours of the trip in various modes of sitting, including *Indian* style with my *weggies* crossed. Not so good for the hip, so I am going to take some meds and get my sorry sore butt to bed.

Yes, we have room reservations for next year, but did change our room to one where Dakota may not hear the big *hyoog ebil* trucks and the almost as scary trollys. In fact, my e-mail confirmation was in my mail box when we got home.

Dakota has his *adbenshures* that he will write about. :::sshhhhhhhh::: don't tell him that I already hit a few of the high spots.

It will probably be a couple of days until I have the pictures ready to post.

Glad you guys made it home "ok". Can't wait to hear Dakota's point of view on things.

Sounds like I should call to get a room now for next year! I don't want the only option to be a jaccuzzi king... I will be there come h*** or high water...

How did Jazzy do on this trip?

Glad you got back safely in spite of the problems. I reckon Kota's 'take' on this adventure will be well worth reading too.

I am sorry to hear that you all were sick. But then, so was some little boy (who was staying close to Harry and Janie). He vomited in the pool on Friday night ~ His Dad (who was aware)didn't tell anyone and there were chunks floating in the pool. Butch and Jake didn't go back in that evening nor Saturday or Sunday.... and that is one of Jake's favorite parts of vacation.

Janie,
Don't know if they were Kentucky plates or not. No plates stuck to their bottoms (although I am thinking that maybe a firm hand should have been) and Butch just pointed them out to me as they were crossing the parking lot the next day.... but I am thinking that they were the two boys who *someone* rolled their eyes about.
I did hear something cute yesterday at a family get together. One of the young mothers (our niece) was trying to get her son to behave and said to him, "do you want me to take you into the house and paint your back side red?". He obviously knew exactly what she had in mind as he was well behaved the rest of the afternoon.

The kids I talked to you about were from a car with Kentucky plates and their folks let them run up to their room on the second floor (far end, furtherest from the stairs) by themselves, every time they came in. Arrrgh! I'm not even sure the oldest was ten yet.

A woman after my own heart! Sharon comments occasionally about kids behavior...her usual line is "You would never have let us get away with that" in a really disgusted tone.

That's a bummer, Linda. You all work hard and put on a wonderful weekend and it just isn't fair that you can't go home and relax. I hope all of you are better now.
