It's been a bit crazy busy lately for us- kids getting out of school so there's the end of the year stuff. Weather has been fantastic for us so we've been spending quite a bit of time outside. LONG walks for the pups- which is nice. I've taken up teaching an agility class as well and that has taken more time than I was originally promised.
Pups are good. I need to schedule Kita's acupuncture, but more as maintanance than a real need. She's also at her ideal weight now, but it's concerning me a tiny bit and will have her checked out. This is a dog that I've struggled for her whole life to lose weight and now she's dropping a bit more than she should. Granted, she just "completed" her coat blow as well so maybe I'm concerned for nothing. This year's blow was unlike any other. She even lost top coat with it. I know they can look mangy and the other shibas I know in the area look just as bad, but she took it to a whole new level this year. Taiko is mid blow and is getting his "veteran" coat. It's very thick for a summer coat. Poor guy is going to melt this year. Black dogs and our climate do not mix well.
Taiko and I are at an agiltiy trial next weekend, then we have a few weeks off and another the weekend of the 4th. Debating a UKC show the weekend after that. If he's not entered, we will be helping out at least in the morning. Our late summer/fall schedule could be really packed or light depending on how tired I want to be. A friend wants to travel with me to Omaha NE mid August and back to IL in September. We'll see how that goes. Need to actually work at some point as well.
Have fun on your time off and report back the adventures.
