I'm on vacation this week... been a little busy getting caught up on things. As for the Shibabies... everyone is doing fairly well. Spent some time yesterday brushing out the never ending coat blow. Beni has a slight limp.. not sure if he tweaked something or if I trimmed his nails to short. Heading to Cornell tomorrow for his monthly recheck.

When anyone asks me if my Beni and Kari shed I always say, "Only twice a year - the first six months, and the last six months...but, that's why they invented the vacuum cleaner."

We are all waiting to hear the good news that comes about from your Beni's doctor's visit...All of our positive thoughts and energy are being sent to your Beni right now!

We hope you are enjoying your vacation, as well...Is there anything special you did? Sleeping in is always special to me....(If I'm too nosy, just let me know- I'm just interested by nature).

We're on vacation too. Murphy is in camp, and I'm sure he's having a lovely time. He is spending time with Zoe, after all!

We were in Ohio for a graduation, then down to Branson, Missouri for a dinner show last night. If any of you go to Branson, we highly recommend The Magnificent Variety Show. This is our 3rd time to see this show.......the reason we swung down by Branson on this trip. Starting back toward Colorado today.

Bob, good thoughts go with you on your visit to Cornell. Hugs for Beni!

Be glad to see you when you get back, Mom & Dad, but it's fun here too!

Patty I get 5 vacations a year and this first one is usually a working vacation... that is... working around the house. The first part of the week was spent remulching the landscaping and doing some trimming and pruning. Spent all of Wednesday in the Rochester area playing in our union golf tournament. That is always a good time. Spent a lot time running here and there but when you're not working you don't mind it so much. Anyway, the yard is now done so it's maintain only from here on. It was a good week to do all of this with the cooler temps and mostly cloudy skies. I placed a new post for Beni.

It's been a bit crazy busy lately for us- kids getting out of school so there's the end of the year stuff. Weather has been fantastic for us so we've been spending quite a bit of time outside. LONG walks for the pups- which is nice. I've taken up teaching an agility class as well and that has taken more time than I was originally promised.

Pups are good. I need to schedule Kita's acupuncture, but more as maintanance than a real need. She's also at her ideal weight now, but it's concerning me a tiny bit and will have her checked out. This is a dog that I've struggled for her whole life to lose weight and now she's dropping a bit more than she should. Granted, she just "completed" her coat blow as well so maybe I'm concerned for nothing. This year's blow was unlike any other. She even lost top coat with it. I know they can look mangy and the other shibas I know in the area look just as bad, but she took it to a whole new level this year. Taiko is mid blow and is getting his "veteran" coat. It's very thick for a summer coat. Poor guy is going to melt this year. Black dogs and our climate do not mix well.

Taiko and I are at an agiltiy trial next weekend, then we have a few weeks off and another the weekend of the 4th. Debating a UKC show the weekend after that. If he's not entered, we will be helping out at least in the morning. Our late summer/fall schedule could be really packed or light depending on how tired I want to be. A friend wants to travel with me to Omaha NE mid August and back to IL in September. We'll see how that goes. Need to actually work at some point as well.

Have fun on your time off and report back the adventures.
