Yep, It's time for another gotcha day. This time it's a big one, #9. That's right Gotcha Day number 9 for the "Tater Tot", Katie. Darn it's hard to believe she has been with us 9 years. The then 3 year old had been on a farm as a yard dog for a year when Lola and Vinka loaded me up in Mom's truck to go down to south MS. Needless to say they brought her home with them. It was this little girl that pulled and nagged VInka and kept her going when Lola died three months later. Katie has welcomed 8 other grey pups into the house. I say welcomed but I'm not sure that the correct word to use. Maybe tolerated is a better word.

Admittedly two years doesn't make the big impression that nine does and Katie has been in the forefront of our minds, but Harry forgot the other June 7 Gotcha Day. Approximately two years and two weeks ago I told Harry that some day I'd like to have a big black boy. He took me at my word and called Judy McGovern, the director of our adoption group, GPA-Louisiana. She called him on Wednesday, while we were on the way to Mountain Hounds in Gatlinburg: there was a big black boy at GPA-Emerald Coast who had retired in April. Judy put in a good word for us, we sent an applcation and a check as soon as we got back home on Monday; she delivered the new guy on Thursday. The reaction from Katie, Max and Pansy was "where have you been, we expected you sooner."

Ghost Walker came home two years ago today. Harry says he's a big 'Mama's Boy'.
