Funny Trudy story!

Trudysmom Jun 08, 2009 10:23 PM

This evening, I was making supper and I gave Trudy a cherry tomato. My poodle Buffy used to love them whole. Loved to POP them, ha.

Trudy took it to her special place in the living room for goodies. Well, she didn't come back so I went to see why.

She looked up at me as if to say "Open it, Mommy!" It was SO CUTE. I should've taken a picture!

I took the tomato and cut it in half. She happily ate it.

Isn't amazing how we know what our children are saying?
Hey Sally, you have a biscuit receipe, don't you? I was wondering if I could have it. Thanks

Too cute, Sally. I wonder if Trudy will have any problems with it the next time you give her one.

Sally, I just happen to think of something. Perhaps Trudy didn't want to get that gook all over her when he bit into a whole tomato. LOL It's much easier to eat one half at a time.

Trudy is a silly girl. Becker would have devoured it in 10 seconds then had a pancreas attack.

That is right, maybe she didn't want it to explode on her hair.

Gary, I thought the pancreas was a problem with fatty foods. Guess other things can hurt it also. I had a cat with that problem. Was awful.

Sally it is. I was just making a goofy statement because Becker lives for food. He will have his meal gone before Tootles ever starts hers.

That's funny, Sally. Never having had one before, Trudy wasn't quite sure how to eat it. I'll have to try that with Katie and see what she does.

Oh, Gary, you were kidding! That's good. I took you seriously because NOTHING would surprise me. Trudy has many foods she can't eat. But I love giving her fresh foods. Nat. Balance too.

Sally,

Yes Becker can't have anything that has a high fat content. He gets only his prescription diet with plenty of carrots, green beans, peas and boiled chicken breast sometime. We buy the no salt added kind of veggies. For his treats he gets apple, baked sweet potato and the occasional liver treat. He loves his food and let's you know when it is time to eat. Now Tootles is a different story and we won't even get into that.

I've been very lucky with Katie so far. She's a very eager eater. I can't remember her ever not eating her meal. She's so funny. She usually sits in the living room where she can see me while I'm getting it ready but sometimes she'll wait right next to her mat where I place the dish. The minute I put it down, she's at the dish. I don't know how she can even taste it she eats so fast.

Becker leans up against the kitchen cabinets and looks at the floor while we pepare his meal. When we put it on the floor he gobbles it down. Meanwhile Little Miss Princess watches from the other room and then expects to be hand fed. Now Eloise will do it. I don't hand feed her. If she doesn't want to eat by herself that is her problem and her food is put in the fridge until the next meal.

Isn't it funny how the two can be so different, Gary? Both were raised the same way I'm sure. I think that perhaps Eloise contributed some to the hand feeding.

We're gettomg some thunder storms right now. Katie is dead to the world sleeping in her bed after a busy day so she hasn't heard the thunder yet. That's one thing that she is afraid of. I hope that they pass through quickly before she wakes up and goes upstairs for her real sleep for the night. LOL
