Miss Lexie

Grhndad Jun 25, 2009 02:55 PM

is in her forever home. Today Janie and I officially adopted her. I know some have said that she was already in her forever home but really that was not the case. She deserved her own family. As time went on it was obvious to us that she would remain here. God, I don't know why. She is such a sweet girl, loving, playful and quiet. She minds so well even to the point that I can just point to the chair, bed or couch and she would go get on them. Her only problem is her age. Why people are afraid to adopt these beautiful older hounds is foreign to me.

We may get hammered by the city ( the town has a 4 dog limit) but so be it. She is going to be here for the rest of her life be it a week, year or longer. We just don't know but one thing is sure, she will have the best that we can provide and all the love we have.

Of course she is in her forever home, she knew it the moment she met her new parents, it just took you a little longer to catch on.

Dogs and cats come into our lives, and too quickly go leaving pawprints on our hearts, and we will never be quite the same again.
