cyst on bladder

anneh Jul 01, 2009 07:54 PM

Hi, a friend of mine is adopting a 6yo dog and we found a perfect match for her. The dog apparently had a huge cyst on her bladder when rescued but a veterinarian removed it and said no cancer. The rescue said she is ok. Just wondering if generally speaking this kind of thing reoccurs? thanks

I have never seen a cystic bladder and could find naothing in the literature by that name. Unless it is termed something else, I would not expect it to recur.

thank you for responding. I probably used wrong wording. The 6yo dog was found abandoned and upon examination a baseball sized tumor was noted and apparently was on bladder. It was successfully removed and was benign. The rescue said the vet then called it a cyst but perhaps that was to make it more understandable to lay people. Hopefully I have explained it better now My friend would love to adopt this dog but is a little wary about whether its likely to recur, the rescue apparently said the vet didn't think so but we would like to get another professional opinion. There are no records on the dog because it was found abandoned.

I still am not clear as to what this cyst is, but I doubt that it will be a problem in the future.
