Hello all, I'm new to this forum...and to dog owning. I just got my pup in May...guessing he is about 7 monthes? He lost a tooth recently as well. I just was wondering if anyone knew what breed he is. I've been told by a few people it looks like he has lab in him. I have no information from the previous owners. Thanks

Hi Lizzy and welcome to the DogHobbyist! Congrats on getting a new pup... he is a great looking dog. As for the mix... I'm bad at this but I might say Lab and German Shephard. It would be interesting to see if his ears finish standing erect but at 7 months old they may not. Can't wait to see more picts and read some stories. What did you name him?

Hi Lizzy, welcome to DogHobbyist! I can't make out any particular breeds, but he's a cute dog!

Thanks for the reply all!
His name is Rookie...I think hes cute too :P. He learns very fast...he already knows some tricks. Another good thing, he gets along great with my cat too! He does seem to be scared of deep water....we've been swimming a few times and he just does not want to go in the water. Bath water doesn't bother him tho.

Your guess is as good as mine, it sure is a pretty pup! What's his/her name?

I agree with the Lab and GSD. Maybe another hunting dog, like a spaniel? The ears look like a JRT, but a mix of hound(lab) and erect(GSD) ears can also produce that look. How much does he weigh?
