Gekko vittatus abrasion

Dannie Oct 10, 2003 08:00 PM

Hello,
I'm fairly new to geckos (I'm mainly an amphibian person), and today I noticed my adult vittatus (skunk gecko, whiteline gecko, etc.) has a small abrasion by its eye. I don't know how it was caused, but she has been lifting up the moss in her cage with her snout, possibly looking for crickets. Should I be worried, or should I just let it pass? It might have been caused by a cricket, should I feed her with tweezers now instead of letting her catch them herself?

Thanks in advance,
Dan

I personally would not worry about it. My tokay got bit in the eyebrow by a crocodile that lived with him in the pet shop. Still got a kink there nothing bad. Keep an eye on it and make sure it doesnt get infected, if it does, get it to a vet. Dont worry about hand feeding, it should be able to get em on its own.
