Miss Lexie update

Grhndad Jul 24, 2009 01:56 PM

Thought I would give an update on Miss Lexie. For the last two weeks she has been her normal self. Giving Janie and I heart attacks everytime she goes out the door. She has been running, trying to get the other kids to play. Still sweet as sugar and loving as can be.

Yesterday she started limping again. Pretty bad now. We have increased her tramadol dosage and hoping this will give some relief. Didn't increase to the max but will if needed. She was on 75 mg 3x a day. I've increased it to 100 mg 3x a day. She can go up to 150 mg 3x a day but that dosage puts her to sleep. This is in addition to her daily dose of Metacam.

Adopting one greyhound will not change the world, but the world will change for that one greyhound.

As I said before, and mean with all my heart. I am so glad that you were her foster family and that you are now her forever family, she is so happy and comfortable with you. It is obvious that she knows she is home and that she loves all of you with all of her heart. As such, she counts on you to know when her pain will make her life uncomfortable.. and you know that she will let you know. Hugs to all of you.... this just breaks my heart.
