such a touchy subject. do you know how many people are killed by dogs a year? do you know how many species have been threatened by cats?
do you know how many idiots own exotics? (not as many as idiots who own domestics, but the numbers are still staggering)
all i can say is enjoy it while it lasts. you never know when the next misguided myopic fanatic who embarks on a crusade to eliminate the issue instead of resolving it might be the one to succeed.
