Jungle fever....

Skaket Sep 08, 2009 05:42 PM

I'm beginning to feel like I live in a jungle. I'm mad at me for spending too much time clearing out the jungle area on the side of my house and Katie's mad at me because I won't let her help me. LOL I did take her with me to dump stuff at the town's recycling area so that helped a bit. I must say that it looks a lot better than it did and I may wait until the weather gets a little colder before I finish it off. Next spring, I'll decide what to do with it that will require the least amount of work. LOL

I think my squirrel buddy, Squeaky is mad at me for trying to clean up his area. I use to see him each day on the branches of the bush eating the red berries but haven't seen him in a couple of days. He shouldn't be mad though since I didn't really do anything to his bush. Perhaps he just liked the mess. LOL

Look at the bright side ML, when a foot of snow falls you will never see that Jungle until spring. LOL

What a cute squirrel! Sounds like you and Katie were very busy!

Oh, I was very busy, Sally. Katie just watched. LOL The squirrel picture is from a couple of years ago. I haven't put that feeder up again since I got the new windows. I may put it up again this winter when there is a shortage of food for the squirrel. I did see Squeaky again this afternoon on the bush so I guess he/she wasn't scared away by all the cleaning up. Squeaky started to build a nest in early spring but then stopped. I don't know why...perhaps found a better spot.

I thought about that, Cheryl but I'm hoping that I got rid of most of the stuff that shoots up in the spring and then grows like crazy through the summer. I will also get more of that heavy, black, plastic lining to put down in early spring and then put lots of wood chips on top of it. I don't want any grass because it's a difficult area to mow. It looks very nice for several years but guess the liner wore out a bit and that's when all the junk started to grow,

Mary Lou, with all the rain you have had, I can understand you feeling like you live in a jungle/rain forest LOL
I sure hope the Summer weather is not a predictor of your Winter weather

The same thought crossed my mind too, Phyl. On the other hand, perhaps we'll have less snow because we have had so much rain. I'm trying very hard to have a positive attitude. Guess what it's doing right now. LOL
