Off topic - a happy ending

Lisha Oct 18, 2009 04:35 PM

I don't know if I ever mentioned it here or not, but Chairman Meow, our stray cat, who is quite a big ole crazy Tom cat went missing at the Begining of June.

**skip this if you don't care about the really long story and jsut want the happy ending**

He broke out a screen at our house and was picked up as a stray and brought to MRFRS (a local cat rescue). Where he broke through a screen and let out 8 other cats. He was trapped and the day I tracked him down through pet finder. The same morning he had been brought to the MSPCA for an adoption event, where he - can you guess?- escaped through an open door - 2 people were talking holding the door open as they loaded up the cats to bring them back and out he ran. 3 crazy cat ladies chase him through the parking lot in a very no helpful manner.

Aout 2 hours later I had tracked him down and he was gone. MRFRS was beside themselves, they were extrememly nice and helpful and loaned me traps, and printed flyers, and called every day. But no Chairman. Months passed. It has been 5 months since Chairman was lost at the MSPCA.
*end of long saga*

Last night Chris got a call from the shelter. He had been turned in by a woman as a stray. They scanned his microchip and called. Chairman is home safe and sound relaxing right now.

He is a little messed up, still in defensive guard mode, and everything makes him jump, he is thin and tired but so happy to be home!

Pretty amazing huh!

Wow! That really is amazing. Bet you are both glad to have him home -- Are you going to be changing your screens into steel grates now?

Glad there was a happy ending...

I love a happy ending. God bless microchips. Hopefully the Chairman will realize he has a good home and stay put. I can't imagine how thrilled you are to have him back.

Reminds me of the movie The Great Escape! lol Glad the Chairman made it back home safe and sound even if he is a little worse for wear.

That is so wonderful! I'm so happy to read that the microchip actually helped and he found his way back home! YEAH!!!

As we get ready for our final nightly stroll (potty time) and bedtime, we will all snuggle down a little tighter knowing that all is well with our fellow "pet lover" friends
out there!
