hi,
about 1 month ago i posted on the old forums about my 15 inch chacoan being lost in my house....well i was never able to find him and had pretty much given up hope..until today one of my neighbors calls..i guess he some how got out of the house and in her yard! she said that for the past week and a half her dog had been barking madly under her shed and by the side of her fence and she knew it was some kind of animal..until today when she saw my tegu eating a slug!..and she knows im into reptiles so she called me..
so i went over there and looked for a couple hours but couldnt find him..but i did find a piece of his shed so i know its him..
please please please does anyone have any suggestions on how to capture him.. i think hes turned this area into his home so i dont think he will move away from it!
sorry about the long post! please help!

sorry about your loss, i've had my share of lost reptiles in my time, luckly after giving up all possible hope i ended up finding them. my suggestion a would be to make an old fashon box trap with a wood box, try tying an appropiate size mouse to a string and tying that to a stick or something like that and using the stick to hold up the box with the bait in the middle if he's around to eat the bait he should pull the stick dropping the box on him just make sure the box is heavy enough and put something under it such as a piece of plywood or something that won't allow him to dig his way out. seems like something to atleast try. or if your able to find a metal critter trap i've seen before, i don't know where to get them but maybe at a sporting goods store at the hunting section, that may work, anyway i hope you find him and if you do let us know, good luck

very simple---i lost a monitor in an acre lot and found him with this method-take whatever his favorite not moving food was and put it in tuppleware with holes in it......put these around the shed and wait. if he is still there he will come to the food and try to get into the container---it worked for me on an acre lot, so i dont see why it wouldn't work for you---the hell with the traps----if he is small he might be intimidated with the traps......try the tuppleware----good luck-----ah you could try getting up early and waiting for him to come get some sun.
