Oldies but goodies....pictures

I was looking through the gallery at Katie's older pictures and couldn't help but think that she hasn't changed that much as far as her toys are concerned. She still loves to play with them. Do your little ones still enjoy their toys?

Neither, Becker or Tootles, ever really got interested much in toys. Maybe it is because they had each other to play with. Tootles has a little basketball she will drag out and leave in the middle of the floor once in a while. Becker, if you get him excited, will run to the toys and come back with a squeeky toy or a knoted rope and play for minute or so and then he is done.

Gary & the gang

Being an only dog could certainly make a big difference, Gary. They have each other to play with and annoy. LOL Sometimes I even think that I bought the toys more for me than for Katie. LOL I have used them to keep her amused the last couple of days. We're back in the rainy pattern AGAIN and can't take the many walks that she's use to.

Ayla got this chicken that played music of Kentucky Chicks singing something you couldn't understand. My in-laws said it was "good morning" but I have my doubts.
Anyway, my husband was so happy when the thing finally died until his aunt surprised Ayla with another one for Christmas. She bought two at the same time. Ayla jumped on the wrapped package when she heard the tune. I finally through that one eyed mess away last week. Hopefully there isn't another in auntie's storage.

Ayla's favorite thing is to grab my slipper out of the closet when I come home and take off my shoes. Sometimes she will come back for the second slipper but usually it's just one. I couldn't wear them or I would get attacked. The bottom has cracked and is falling off but I hate to get rid of them because she does it every time and will miss them. She has grabbed a different slipper every now and then though.

Dee and Ayla

Wow, those are some great stories, Dee....too cute!!!! Katie never had any musical toys that I can remember. Maybe it's just as well. LOL It's funny that Ayla remembered the tune. Bet hubby was thrilled when she got a new one. I have a big plastic bag filled with the stuffed toys down my basement. They've all been washed and I'm going to see if I can find a rescue group in the area that might want them. Katie loved the stuffed ones when she was a young pup but, for some reason, the tennis ball became her favorite when she got older and still is. I just love getting on my hands and knees retrieving it from under a chair or the couch all the time. LOL Of course, the bed is still a favorite toy as well and she still will walk around wearing it on her head. LOL You can see from the picture below why I had to get a bed that had a covering that zipped all the way around the bed.

Ayla will dig the pillow out of her bed then look at me with it setting on her head just like Katie. Silly puppies

Ayla also has a toy box filled that I set on it's side. I didn't know if she would but she will climb right in and take out the toy that she wants. Sometimes all of them but usually the right one.

It is funny because if she is playing with one toy and you throw it, she will bring it back but if you throw a different toy, she will ignore it and continue with the first toy. Even if she is playing with a small tennis ball and you throw a different color. If you throw 4 different colored balls at once, she will come back with the one she was playing with. But she will play with the other colors too just not at that time.

Oh, she will also stick toys under the couch and play with them that way. Putting them under and pulling them out. Doing the paddle paws at them. They usually don't go far enough for them to get stuck either.

Dee and Ayla

I finally took the pillow out of Katie's bed permanently and use it on my computer chair, Dee since she never wanted it in her bed. LOL One of these days I may have to replace the foam in the bed but it seems to be holding up pretty well. Of course, now that she's getting older she doesn't drag it around quite as much as she use to but she still sleeps in it upside down but not as often. I also bring it upstairs for her at night to sleep in. She starts off on a scatter rug I have but she's always in it in the morning. I guess that they have to find their own routine.

Trudy likes her toys, but not as much as she used to. She REALLY loves her various beds!

Wow, it looks like Trudy has plenty of toys and beds, Sally. Most of Katie stuffed toys are in the basement now since she adopted her tennis ball as her favorite. I think I'll bring a few back upstairs and see if she'll show any interest in them.
