Ayla!! She is five already. I went back and read my very first post in February 2005. Here is a copy of part of it that I wanted to share.
**I didn't get to the computer yesterday so today I check and feel so welcomed.
Her name is Ayla (Clan of the Cave Bear) and she is 10 weeks. She is also a toy; adult weight should be 6 pounds. I am planning on litterbox training her (WeeWee pads) If you look closer at the picture, you will see that she is a tri color. I really love the dark brown but know it will probably lighten.
I live in NJ and she came from Texas. On the layover in Atlanta, they bumped her flight so she ended up landing at 10:30 instead of 5:30 PM. The worst part is that it was 18 degrees by that time. I was so upset and no one has given me answers. The attitude is, "Do you have your dog? What's the problem?"
Anyway, I do have my puppy and cannot believe that someone once told me they are stupid dogs. She picks up things so quickly, I'm amazed. (She figured out that if she goes through the dinning room, she will get to us in the hallway that is gated off) She goes on the WeeWee pad most of the time (sometimes only her front feet are on it but that's okay
My husband didn't want another dog after our Bichon died at the age of 16. It has taken 4 years for me to finally get her. I had been looking and someone I knew for years who has goats had Shih Tzu puppies on the bottom of one post. I e-mailed her right then, saw pictures, picked her out, then told my husband that was what I wanted for my birthday. Guess what? He absolutely adores her!
I do, however, need a little advice. Her nickname has become "Puppy Poopie Breath" I am switching her food over from Walmart Max Nutrition to a new food by Merrick (really interesting food) I also give her treats from a sample pack of Wellness venison that she is crazy about. I stopped the venison to see if it was what made her poo appetizing or not. When I catch her, I tell her no and pick it up as soon as she goes (if I see it first) I even tried to put bitter apple on one but then she wanted to play with it (Yuck) Deterr is for 10 pound dogs and I'm not crazy about meat tenderizers. Anyone have any other ideas?
Thanks and I'm excited to meet you all.**
At least the poopie eating has stopped.

Soo glad I met you guys. ((hug))
